4-Day Professional Advanced Course & Retreat Joshua Tree CA
October 25 @ 3:00 pm - October 29 @ 3:00 pm
This 4-day course and desert communal retreat is designed for professionals who have already studied with me and wish to advance and refine their understanding of the explorations found in my book Core Awareness: Enhancing Yoga, Pilates Exercise, and Dance. Each day will be broken down into one of the main concepts in the book that we will work through to refine the movement, increase proprioception, and gain personal and professional results. We will work together as a group, in partnership with others, and as individuals. The goal will be for you to integrate these specific explorations into your own practice and be able to guide clients and students through a process so as not to compensate or engage their Psoas.
This workshop is held in an intimate setting for a group of 12. Rooms and meals are shared. I hope by offering this course to give you the time and attention to deepen your understanding of my work with the Psoas, to explore each concept in depth, to be in a community of like-minded professionals for the possibility of exchanging ideas and broadening your understanding of the psoas, and to address your concerns so you may advance your professional goals.
PREREQUISITE & REQUIREMENTS: You must be a professional (not a layperson) and have attended a minimum of two Psoas Workshops (no less than one Teleclass & one 12 or 18-hour workshop combination) to be able to attend. I encourage professionals already on my LINKS/COMMUNITY page to attend this course to further your understanding of how to utilize these major concepts in your work. This course is an educational process designed for people in the field of bodywork and fitness, not for those wishing to heal their Psoas. Please register only if qualified.

VENUE: SHARED ROOMS, MEALS, & DAILY DUTIES: We are staying at a private ranch in Joshua Tree where two distinct desert ecosystems the Mojave and the Colorado desert come together to create an other-worldly experience. Our ranch has a heated pool and hot tub. You will be sharing a room with one other participant. A full kitchen is available for us to use. Arrival time is 3:00 pm and a 4 course catered vegetarian gluten-free dinner will be served Wednesday evening from 5-7. I will also be supping a range of breakfast foods (fresh fruit, gluten-free oatmeal, yogurts, selection of nuts, free range eggs, organic bacon/meats, bread). You are responsible for bringing any special dietary needs PLUS one meal to share for a lunch meal. We will co-create our lunch and eat together. I recommend bringing salad stuff, crock pot stew/soup ingredients etc. for easy prep time. Dinner will be up to you and how you wish to spend your evening. Please note there is a selection of restaurants in Joshua Tree but weekends can be a busy time.
HOW TO GET TO JOSHUA TREE: Fly into Palm Springs, Ontario, or Los Angeles. Wherever you fly into you will have to drive to Joshua Tree or catch a ride. (Palm Springs will be the most expensive. Ontario is cheaper and halfway to the desert compared to Burbank or LAX). I will be flying into LAX and can meet people Wednesday morning for a ride up to the ranch. My host Cheryl also will be driving up if you wish to connect or car pool.
TIME NEEDED TO ARRIVE: It is recommended you leave no later than noon to arrive on time. We are welcomed at the ranch at 3:00 pm. From LAX it is approximately a 3-hour drive. Burbank 2.5 hours or more with traffic depending on what time of day, Ontario about 1 1/2, and Palm Springs 40 min.
