October 18 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
“the house shelters day-dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace.
― Gaston Bachelard , The Poetics of Space
Jeff Oberdorfer FAIA, LEED is a Nationally recognized community (and urban) planner, affordable housing advocate, and pioneer in the development of sustainable, affordable housing. Jeff is an award winning advocate for disabled tenant housing, an adjunct professor of Architecture, and a LEED Fellow (leadership in energy and environmental design) Architect.
Passionate about special needs access, nontoxic building materials that effect autism and our immune systems, quality of life, safety for all, livable streets for children’s play and elderly access; ecological balance, sustainable building materials, green roofs for migrating critters, responsible design entangled with wilderness, as well as planning that enhances our inner-conductivity and supports our families and diverse communities …Jeff is a powerful advocate for Architecture that nourishes, human scaled, and supportive of people’s connection to earth.
We will be in conversation around growing sustainable equitable communities, providing safety and access, ecological sourcing, and visionary multi-family dwellings. Together we will delve into how Architecture shapes our sense of self and community and is symbolic of our most primal needs and psychic longings. A Question & Answer period will be provided for practical answers to your questions.
