Stalking Wild: Practicing the Art of Now

A Sound, Movement & Play Improv

A Collaboration between Liz Koch
and Music/Psychologist/Inspirational Michael Brant DeMaria

 Join Liz & Michael for 3 days of P L A Y

Have you ever noticed the joy on the face of musician’s improvising. They are immersed fully in the now. This experience is one of the great gifts of living and it is also a highly effective way of learning to live a more creative, meaningful and effective life. Many people imagine it takes years to improvise like the masters – Bach, Beethoven, and the modern masters of improvisation like Keith Jarrett, David Darling or the contagious improvisational concerts like the Grateful Dead or Wide Spread Panic – however, based upon some basic techniques anyone in a remarkably short time can begin to experience the power of now and overtime learn to be an artist of now.

  • FLOW LIKE WATER Music and water have a great deal in common. They both move in waves are able to move over and through obstacles gracefully, elegantly, skillfully – we are made of both music and water – and we will explore the magic, mystery and miracle of how water and sound are intimately connected. The information in this workshop is based upon Dr. DeMaria’s latest and most up to date thinking and the basis for his 4th book ‘Flow Like Water: Healing your heart and recovering your soul in times of crisis, trauma and transition”. We will be learning to let go into the flow.

  • BEING MUSIC This workshop is for everyone – Were you told you were tone deaf? Have you had a traumatic experience around making music?  Our indigenous ancestors knew we were are inherent and innate music makers – this is a workshop for waking up that ancient knowledge and your inner child. A way for you to experience the joy of simple, pure and profound Being. We will discover, explore and learn how to listen deeply and also explore our very first primordial language and how doing so rejuvenates, recharges and releases tremendous energy helping us live more healthy and fulfilled lives.

Michael Brant DeMaria, Ph.D. Dr. Michael DeMaria’s life turned inside out and upside down after the first decade of his professional life when he underwent a life transforming vision quest (lament in the wild) without food or water, guided by a native teacher. He went there suffering compassion fatigue and burnout after working for many years with severe cases of child abuse as a child protection team psychologist. The experience provided a profound healing, a course correction and gave him a vision for his life and reconnected him with his first love – music. Ever since his mission has been to help guide others to what he calls, “The ocean of peace that lies within each human heart.”  He does this through his work as a creative mentor for the soul’s journey, yoga/meditation/mindfulness teacher, and above all as a musician, artist, poet and filmmaker. His healing music is heard over a million times a week across the world, garnering him four Grammy® nominations, 8 ZMR awards, 6 #1 albums, a Native American Music Award and appearing on the Grammy Winning album, All About Bullies Big and Small.  He is also a Sounds True recording artist with his music being featured on projects with Eckhart Tolle, Mark Nepo and Noah Levine. He is the author of 4 books, 3 of which were bestsellers, and is the creator and author of the Peace Within Process for Integrative Wellness. His newest book of poetry When All is Lost: Finding Heart in The Dark was released in 2020 and Souling: Birthing and Tending a Soulful Life is due out in 2022.  You can find out more about his work at www.michaeldemaria.com and his free 7×7 Meditation Challenge at www.youtube.com/mbdemaria , where his videos have over 280,000 views in 170 countries around the world.

Welcome to Core Awareness™

Liz Koch is an international educator and author who seeks to dissolve the objectification of “body” in order to re-conceptualize human beings as biologically intelligent, self-organizing, and self-healing. Employing biomorphic and embryonic paradigms, Liz redefines psoas as smart, expressive tissue that is both elemental and universal.

Core Awareness fosters core integrity and self-efficacy as creative and expressive human beings.

Here at Core Awareness you’ll discover new ways of understanding the psoas. In addition to the blogs there is an  educationally rich sourcing free for the taking. Explore my videos, articles, podcasts, interviews, FAQ’s and community links and let yourself go wild!
