Challenging the Insistence on Homeostasis ~ A Stalking Wild Psoas Workshop Seattle WA

Challenging the Insistence on Homeostasis
Stalking Wild Psoas Workshop
Lakewood Seward Community Center
Seattle Washington – June 19-21, 2026

My process entails first creating a safe container so that my blood ignites my curiosity and my heart synchronizes into coherent oscillations, reaching toward a lush, sensorial experience as tendrils of my being unravel and begin to bifurcate. First, the fertile ground of landing is prepared where primordial movements prevail, slowing down and quieting so I can hear the cilia speaking and the mitochondria excitedly deconstructing the embedded insistence that lives within my tissue. Assimilating ancestral wounds, imaginal cells innovating new delectable ways of being. Becoming more than my defended, fearful thoughts can fathom,
I am consciously immersed in the pleasure of biomorphic movement.
Stalking Wild Psoas: Embodying Your Core Intelligence
This workshop employs a bio-intelligent paradigm exploring the inter-relationships of core integrity, self-actualization, and innovative expression available within your fluid core. Nurturing coherent interplay between psoas, bone, heart, and gut you’ll experience the role psoas plays in stress regulation, dynamic expression, and neuroplasticity. Discover how a fluid, nourished iliopsoas can invite creative expression.
Emilie Conrad spoke of the insistence on homeostasis ….In our culture, there is an immutability due to the strictures imposed upon our physical system from socially acceptable ways of moving and behaving. Conrad referred to this phenomenon as an “insistence on homeostasis” that manifests in density, stagnation, deprivation, and redundancy within our living system. Shaped and defined by repetitive movements, conditioned tissue loses its ability to be adaptable and responsive. Defensive strategies for feeling “safe” become visible within living tissue. Wherever compression or fixation exists there will inevitably be a lack of electrical conductivity and a loss of aliveness. The potential for increased engagement through activating fluid offers an expanded experience that changes our perception and understanding of being human while interrupting and dissolving regimented and conditioned behavior.
